22Feb2004 The sun is back and we have had a couple of weeks with temperatures in the upper 30's to mid 40's. My obsession has been to chip away at the 3 to 4 inch thick glacier on our driveway. The vehicles haven't had problems getting up the driveway as they are 4 wheel drive, but all of us, Malcolm, Allison and Tutka have fallen and slid down the driveway. It is very slick. The ice got so think because I could not keep up with the snow removal. Once the ice is gone, I believe the sun will keep the ice at bay for the rest of the season. Next year I hope to have some sort of mechanical help with the snow removal. A blade for the truck, a blower, or maybe a 4 wheeler with a blade?
29Jan2004 While Allison is away, us bachelors can indulge in our messes. Tutka enjoys eviscerating his toys and removing the squeakers. He also likes to chew up my junk mail. I can't complain as he is very good about only chewing his things and leaving the furniture, plants and other things not his alone. He is also shedding his rather fine puppy fur. Tutka is three and a half months old and about 40 pounds.
